HOW TURBO WORK

TURBOCHARGER

, everybody knows that a turbocharged car is considerably fast, but how many of you know what is and how it works. Today im gonna explain a bit on and how it works.
A normal non /supercharged car is called NA,naturally aspirated whereas a turbocharged car falls into the forced induction category. Why? Because the air is forced into the cylinder by turbocharger.
A basically consist of a turbine and a compressor. In the itself, the compressor and the turbine is connected by a shaft, so whenever the turbine is rotated the compressor will follow as well.

A REAL CUTAWAY

A compressor construction is similar to a fan construction where when the power is on, it will suck the air behind it and pushes it forward. Same goes the compressor in the ,it sucks air from the atmosphere and pushes and compress it into the cylinder. As for the turbine,it is equivalent to a windmill or your typical kids fan toys where it will spin if you blow on it. In the ,the turbine is blown by the exhaust gas from the .This in turn will rotate the compressor

CUTAWAY OF A

Where is located?A is mounted on the extractor, where hot gases come out from the .After the gases had gone through the turbine,it will continue to flow out through the exhaust. At the compressor side of the ,the inlet of the compressor is connected to your air filter and the outlet is connected to your intake manifold and finally ended up in your ,passing the throttle body.

TYPICAL LOCATION OF TURBOCHARGER

How works?, by reading the explanation above you should roughly understand how it works, in short, the exhaust gas will turn the turbine and the compressor will rotate thus forcing more air into the

AIRFLOW OF TURBOCHARGER

Forcing more air the will allow more to be injected, this will increase the power output of the car. A typical turbocharger can increase around 40-50% of power output.
However a turbocharger system does not consist of a turbocharger only, other components that should be in a turbocharged car is the wastegate and blow off valve/relief valve .Intercooler is actually an additional component in a turbocharged car. However all turbocharged car nowadays comes with the intercooler as standard.Wastegate?Blow off valve?Intercooler?I will explain each part one by one later on.And I will go down further in about turbocharger.
